Once any modifications, additions, or deletions are made they must be committed to the repository, see understanding status icons.

It should be noted that you must have write permission to the portion of the repository that you are working in. Depending on the management of the project you may need to send your changes/patches to someone who does. Assuming that you have an open project JCVS with modifications you can commit all the changes or just selected ones.
